Eric recently moved to Ann Arbor from Missouri where he attended Truman State University in Kirksville. He graduated with Departmental Honors in May 2010 with a BM in Saxophone Performance, a BA in Clarinet Liberal Arts, and Minors in Jazz Studies and Flute. While at Truman, he was a member of the Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, Clarinet Choir, and Saxophone Quartet. He has been a member of the Missouri All-Collegiate Band, Missouri All-Collegiate Jazz Band, and has performed Paul Harvey's Concertino for Baritone Saxophone and Orchestra and Karel Husa's Elegie et Rondeau with the Truman State University Symphonic Orchestra as a winner of the Gold Medal Concerto Competition in 2008 and 2010 respectively.
Eric has been teaching private lessons for many years to students of all ages. He also served Truman State University as a Theory and Aural Skills tutor during his undergraduate career. He has participated in master classes with Ben Allison, Donny McCaslin, Doug Rosenberg, David Nabb, and Boris Allakhverdyan and has received private instruction from Andrew Bishop, Diego Rivera, Trent Kynaston, Thomas Walsh, Debra Richtmeyer, and Otis Murphy. His primary teachers include Randall Smith, Jesse Krebs, Julianna Moore, and Tim AuBuchon.
