Paul AllenPaul Allen - Guitar Paul Allen is an experienced and conventional guitar instructor who offers variety in the details of his teaching methods. He has a B.A. in classical guitar performance from U.of M. After graduation, he continued study at U.of M. for a year and a half, taking courses in composition and applied music. Four of Paul's former students now hold teaching positions of their own. He offers adult or upper-level students instruction in classical, jazz and blues guitar, and is no stranger to rock and metal shredding, also working with alternate tunings. Students are welcome to bring their own CDs to learn, or they con choose from a collection of classic rock and new rock CDs plus tab. With younger students and beginners, Paul uses a mix of disciplined study (note reading) and other materials designed to add fun and interest to the lessons including computer designed aids. A good way to hear some of Paul's musical style is to visit Café Felix in downtown Ann Arbor, and listen to him playing in Deep Blue, a flamenco-jazz group performing on first and third Fridays from 9:00 till midnight.
