,Geoff Kinde earned a Bachelor of Music from Wayne State University and an Associate in Fine Arts from Macomb Community College. He studied privately with Joe Morello (Dave Brubeck Quartet), Sam Tundo (Detroit Symphony Orchestra), and Jerry McKenzie (Stan Kenton Big Band). He has performed with many orchestras and theater companies including The Michigan Opera Theatre. He toured nationally with Atlantic Records recording artists The Atomic Fireballs and can be heard on the soundtracks for the Scooby-Doomovie, American Pie, The Haunted Mansion, and Three to Tango.
Geoff has performed with the Allen Park Symphony, Warren Symphony and the Dearborn Summer Orchestra. He was musical director for Las Vegas' The Rat Pack, New York's Prince Street Players, Bonstelle Theater, and Stragecrafters. He was also director for Camp Jam and Camp Jam Kidz in 2007 and 2008.
Mr. Kinde is the percussion ensemble instructor at Summit Academy North and drumline instructor for Notre Dame Prep and Berkley High School. A private instructor since 1989, Geoff teaches drum set, marching and concert percussion, and melody and hand percussion. His teaching style is tailored to the needs of each student and his mission is to help people reach their musical goals in a friendly and encouraging environment.
